Jesus fed 5000- Mourning with those who mourn

3 Ways of Mourning With Those Who Mourn

The problem
Sometimes I feel inadequate when trying to help those that mourn or comfort those who stand in need of comfort. It can be hard to know what to offer when we have never experienced another person's type of loss.

Someone is Waiting

Someone is Waiting
In the “38 Random acts of Kindness” post I referred to an experience of knowing that the Lord can lead us to people that need our help. This is that experience.

A prayer inspired by a story
When my husband and I were first married we lived in a small apartment in Pleasant Grove. One day I was seated comfortably in my armchair reading stories from the Ensign. One story in particular seemed to prick my heart. It was a story about a visiting teacher who listened to the spirit and was inspired to drop by another sister’s home at a crucial time of need.

3 Ways to Receive Answers From the Lord and 1 Way Not To (A Lesson from the Brother of Jared)

An important question seemingly unanswered
I remember spending many hours on my knees after my now husband asked me to marry him. I prayed harder than ever and I felt like my prayer was met with silence. I did not have a stupor of thought, I knew what that was like and it was not the same but why did I not get a clear answer? Wasn’t this the most important decision of my life and possibly eternity? Why did I not receive guidance? Didn’t the Lord promise that if I knocked he would open? Why had I clearly received answers to such trivial things in the past but I didn't have an answer for this. After hours on my knees a thought came to my mind and my question was answered with a question.“Do you want to marry him?” I searched my heart and my answer was yes.

Too much social media? Heed what we heed- Lehi's dream

How much is too much?
I find myself, as a parent, a mother and a member of the LDS church wondering where to draw the line with social media. How much time should I spend? How much is too much or how am I supposed to use social media to #sharegoodness while keeping my mind free from other negative things that seem to accompany it?

My Feelings About The Prophet Joseph Smith

During this past General Conference Elder Andersen extended a challenge to share our thoughts and testimonies of Joseph Smith with others even those within our faith. I wrote mine in a form of a post.

A Tale of Two Mirrors

Like most teenager girls when I was younger I worried about my appearance. I often fussed with my makeup and hair and tried to cover up flaws. In the process of getting ready for the day I found that I had two different mirrors in my house. A "good" mirror and a "bad" mirror. One mirror was more flattering in its lighting while the other seemed to highlight flaws instead of minimize them. So I did what I thought any other teenage girl would do. I always chose to look in the bad mirror. I wanted to see the flaws that everyone else could see.

Why did Jacob see Jesus?

Sometimes I write blog posts that are more rambling thought and I never publish them. This is one that I stumbled back on and I found it i...
